Nov. 17—There's nothing hostile about Angry Chicken & Juicy 88 Hotdog — just a little taste bud provocation, which proved to be just fine. Although dining in is certainly an option at this small, bright, order-at-the- counter restaurant in a South Nevada Avenue strip mall, we ordered online for carryout. Initially, I was put off by the size and cost of the portions: $23.99 for a whole chicken; a half order is $12.99. For the $24-ish price, we ordered half and half, getting the original fried chicken along with the signature sweet and spicy variation. North Korea Threatens US With ‘Powerful Measures’ Over Drills

(Bloomberg) -- North Korea threatened to unleash a powerful action if the US does not halt joint military drills with partners including South Korea, in what might be an effort by Kim Jong Un to lay the ground for his first nuclear test in five years. North Korea Fires 17 Missiles in Biggest-Ever Daily Barrage

(Bloomberg) -- North Korea fired at least 17 missiles Wednesday including the first ballistic one to fly over a nautical border with South Korea, in its biggest daily barrage under leader Kim Jong Un. South Korea also closed some air routes east of the peninsula for safety reasons, the transport ministry said. North Korea also fired about 100 artillery shells into a maritime buffer zone off the east coast, the JCS said. The missiles triggered the first ever air raid alert on South Korea’s Ulleung Island, about 100 kms east of the coast. That exchange coincided with the US and South Korea beginning joint naval drills that included warships such as guided-missile destroyers.

A-10 Warthogs to brush up on maritime combat in Pacific deployment

The A-10s, also known as “Warthogs,” belong to the 23rd Air Expeditionary Wing at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. At the same time, the Air Force is reimagining the role of its counterterrorism mainstay for a new kind of fight. The Pentagon maintains a regular A-10 force in the Indo-Pacific at South Korea’s Osan Air Base, flown by the 25th Fighter Squadron. The region’s sole Warthog unit doesn’t boast the speed or stealth of fighter jets, but flies maritime security patrols and helps with search-and-rescue efforts in addition to its more conventional airstrike roles. The wing was on track to be certified as the Air Force’s first such organization over the summer.

North Korea: Pyongyang fires suspected ICBM

North Korea's multiple launches comes as the US and South Korea are staging their largest-ever joint air drills, which Pyongyang has strongly criticised as "aggressive and provocative". On Thursday North Korea fired a long-range missile at around 07:40 local time (23:40 GMT), according to a statement from South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff. The US said the launch demonstrated the threat North Korea's missile programme poses to neighbours and international peace and security. "South Korea and the US believe that if they find the starting point of the provocation, they can precisely strike it. But there are starting points all over North Korea, and North Korea is posing dimensional, systematic and simultaneous threats that they can fire (missiles) anywhere in their land.
