South Korean sales rise in October

GM Korea sales rebounded 63% to 4,070 units from very weak year earlier levels, while Ssangyong domestic sales more than doubled to 7,850. Overseas sales increased 14% to 286,588 units in October from 251,668, helped by strong sales in the Americas, India and the Asia-Pacific region. Hyundai left unchanged its earlier forecast of an 11% rise in full year global sales to 4,323,000 vehicles, driven by a 13% rise in overseas sales to 3,591,000 units and a slight rise in domestic sales to 732,000 units. GM Korea global sales surged fourfold to 26,811 vehicles in October from depressed year earlier sales of 6,875, driven by a strong rebound in domestic and export sales. Renault Korea saw its global sales rise 66% to 19,258 units in October from 11,627 a year earlier, driven by strong export sales.

South Korea sales, India prospects, Brazil’s 2022 – the week

Sales are projected to have reached a record high of 4.41 million units (+25 YoY) in 2022. The US light vehicle market turned out at 13.7 million in 2022, down 7.9% on 2021’s 14.9 million units. GM performed especially strongly in the fleet market (sales up 44% in the year). In 2023, US light vehicle sales are still expected to remain well below pre-pandemic levels at 14.9 million units, an increase of 9% from 2022. The company, called L-H Battery Company, is based in Jeffersonville, Ohio with an initial paid up capital of US$210m.

Privacy Hits a Low at TikTok, Twitter

ZetaNile: Open source software trojans from North Korea

ReversingLabs Malware Researcher Joseph Edwards takes a deep dive into ZetaNile, a set of open-source software trojans being used by Lazarus/ZINC. A more recent technique the group has picked up uses trojanized open-source software, with the help of persistent social engineering to deliver a malicious payload. This set of trojanized, open-source software implants has been dubbed ZetaNile by Microsoft and BLINDINCAN by CISA. In addition to convincing graphics, the trojanized software only activates the malicious payloads when victims enter the provided credentials. ConclusionThe ZetaNile family is the most recent of many open-source software projects trojanized by ZINC, including PuTTY, KiTTY and TightVNC Viewer.

According to court documents, Moinian served in the U.S. Army in the United States, Germany and South Korea from approximately 1977 through 2000. After his service, Moinian worked for various cleared defense contractors in the United States – including in San Diego – as well as the Department of Defense. Upon returning to the United States, Moinian began gathering aviation-related materials, which included transferring material from a CDC to a thumb drive. At the end of March 2018, Moinian traveled to Bali and met with these same individuals again. Moinian and his wife smuggled this cash back into the United States.
